PMS & Menopausal Nesting

I do believe that PMS & Menopausal nesting is a real thing.

I had a hysterectomy about 16 years ago, but still experience PMS symptoms. I’ve been in menopause full on for a number of years, but it hasn’t let up. On a monthly basis I have my anger day, sweet tooth day, depression day, and a day where I cannot get enough things cleaned and put away…the nesting day.

Today is the nesting phase of the month. Not at all unlike that of a pregnant woman nearing that first labor pain, I cannot sit still. I must do things to get the home in order. I’ve washed the bedding, ran the sweeper, dusted, cleaned the glass tables, and still feel like I should be doing something more. Like maybe cleaning out the fridge, taking out the trash. Okay those are on the to-do list 🙂

Yesterday was the sweet tooth attack day. I could NOT get enough sweet stuff and well sugar and Keto do not go hand in hand. Not a good thing. The day prior was my BLAH day where I just did not want to be at work. Or home. Or anywhere except maybe in a cave somewhere or under a rock. Makes being at work a challenge but I pushed through and poured on the extra kindness to my residents. I was so thankful to come home at the end of the day and crochet, though I really didn’t do much on the current project because I wasn’t feeling it.

Today is get it all in order day. It is not a favorite day because I have so much to do but I’m all over the map because…well my brain is all over the place. More coffee needs to be consumed. A LOT more!

At least when I go off to work tomorrow, for day 1 of 5 in a row, everything will be in order. This is necessary for my sanity. I’m only awake for about 2-3 hours a day, when home, if it is a work day. This does not leave much time for eating, showering, getting ready to leave for work or getting to bed. When life on the home front is well organized I do better at staying mentally balanced.

By the way is microwave popcorn a good breakfast choice?

Off to clean out the fridge, y’all have a marvelous day!
