Wine & Cheese ~ 4th Serving

wineandcheese2I used to devote my Wednesday blog post to whining and then time and life got in the way. But for 2019 I’m back to a regular serving of Wine & Cheese!

Despite being a really happy, positive person, I do have things that annoy me at times. I never let anything grate on my nerves for long but thought it would be fun to vent them periodically in my blogs. I also feel that good things, the cheese in life, should be acknowledged as well. I’m even going to throw in a bit of dessert, a piece of virtual chocolate, something that made me laugh or smile just a bit more than normal. If you’d like to read the past editions of Wine & Cheese just search past postings. Sit back and join me now for a serving of some whine and cheese!

😦 It is entirely too cold! Wind chills WELL below zero in these parts today. The post office in many areas around us canceled delivery of mail, and I do not blame them one bit! You know it is cold when that happens.

😦 I am so darn addicted to Pokemon GO again, it is not a good thing. My screen time increased 50% last week. UGH. (I secretly LOVE this game but wow)

😦 I get it, it is bitter cold. But if you go to the store, you still should put your cart in the proper spot, not in a parking place but in the cart corral. Seriously it is still pure laziness not too do this!

🙂 While indeed it IS cold, that didn’t stop me from going and donating plasma today. I was debating bothering, because I didn’t need the money this week. But then I found out how critical the need is for human plasma. It takes 1200 donations of plasma to treat just one patient with hemophilia. To put that in perspective, if I donate 2x a week, the maximum allowed, I can only provide 104 donations. Essentially it takes 12 people donating 104 times a year to provide that patient with the treatment they need. And plasma cannot be made in a lab, it has to come from folks who are willing to donate. It is used for people in shock, for burn patients and several unique medications that are critical to save lives. I suppose that is why they are willing to pay me $35/$40 a visit, plus various monthly incentives.

🙂 The cold did not stop me from taking a drive to spin Pokemon stops today after going to the store. WOOHOOO!

🙂 While this weather sucks…it will be near 60 this weekend. My car is getting washed even if it rains, because it is filthy beyond words.

🙂 Just one more shift and I’m off for 3 days!!! And this weekend is the Super Bowl of Preaching at church, complete with tailgating and fun. I’m so glad I’m off this time!

I recently stumbled on a weather app, The Weather Kitty. It is so cute and sometimes downright funny! It is free, and if, like me, you love cats, this is for you!
