I don’t want to brag, boast or otherwise pat myself on the back…but I’m turning into quite the chef. In fact, I am rather MARVELOUS in the kitchen! And to think I totally hated to cook in the past. That, perhaps, could have been from always being told that it was “good but not as good as mine”. Yeah whatever. When you get enjoyment from something you tend to do better. When you do something to get praise and recognition for your insecure self, you tend to be an over achiever. When you do it for both reasons, you are going to be one hell of a cook. That was just not my area of insecurity thanks.
Now that I am appreciated for my efforts, it has made me want to do more. I don’t prepare meals for accolades of any kind. My efforts are all out of love for someone and wanting to make sure they eat well and leave the table with a full, satisfied tummy. And that is my driving force to improve my culinary skills. That and I get tired of frozen pizza after a while.
I’ve made to date 7 things I found on Pinterest, the latest was a quick, easy, fairly inexpensive stew. And it was good! So good I’ll post the recipe here.
A sense of adventure in the kitchen has taken over and I’ve started changing and adapting recipes, with much success, and cooking is becoming something very fun. In fact, my sister-in-law is talking of taking cooking classes and I’m giving serious thought to joining her in those. Not sure why she is thinking about it as she is quite the chef already, but it would be a fun thing to do with her.
Meanwhile, I’m becoming a marvelous chef thanks to Pinterest.
